Project Homeless Connect 2011 was a HUGE success...
Let's Make 2012 Even Better!
2012 Dates - September 17-21st
(Stay Tuned for Event Details)
Project Homeless Connect Week is a week of events designed to educate, empower and connect everyone impacted by homelessness in the Metro Area. It is a colaberative effort of the City of Jackson and Partners to End Homelessness. In 2007, Jackson hosted its first Project Homeless Connect which was a single day service fair in Smith Park in downtown Jackson. Since then, Project Homeless Connect has grown into a week long event focusing on ending homelessness in the Metro Jackson area.
Events for the week will include a one-stop service day that brings homeless service providers and mainstream resources together in an easily accessable atmosphere, a concert featuring homeless and formerly homeless musicians, and a conference on homelessness. These events are designed to bring awareness to homelessness in the Metro area, and to explore ways to effectively end homelessness for individuals.
It takes a lot of volunteers to plan Project Homeless Connect and even more to pull off all these events throughout the week. Check out the VOLUNTEER page of this website to find out how to volunteer. This is a great way to get service hours for school or civic groups. You can volunteer for a couple hours, or a whole day.
