The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) allocated $13,348,427 to the State of Mississippi for activities benefiting persons who have recently become homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless. The HPRP will provide temporary financial assistance and housing relocation and stabilization services to individuals and families who are homeless or would be homeless but for this assistance.
MDA has awarded PTEH Continuum of Care (CoC) $2,200,489 to administer this program in Hinds, Madison, Rankin, Warren and Copiah counties.
The Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program is closing effective December 31, 2011 with the depletion of all funds allocated to our continuum. Over the past two years, we have been able to assist thousands of individuals avoid homelessness. We want to thank all who have been a part of making this program work including participating agencies, MDA, HUD, and the community at large.
